Magnolia Mania GDT- Doorplate

Happy tuesday, crafters.

Today I want to show you what I made for my forth time as a Guest Designer for the Magnolia Mania Challenge . This weeks theme is to create a doorplate. Pop over to the blog to join in the challenge this fortnight.

I chose to use something other than paper to for my project. Actually my 5 year old daughter helped both collecting the material (last year) and choosing the stamps representing each one of us in our little family. We had lots of fun with this! (Although she kept asking me why Tilda and Edwin haven't got mouths...)

I created the plate using some peaces of driftwood. We collected those on the beach near our summer house last year (because you never know what you might need some day, right!) Same thing with the mussel shells. I glued three pieces together in layers to shape the doorplate, and added some flowers, lace, thickers and the stamps.  The word means "welcome" in Norwegian.

The three stamps are Tilda sending loveletter, Tilda with floating hearts and Surf Edwin. I colored the images with my copics. I wrote the names on small pieces of white Bazzil and distressed the edges. That's it. Lots of glue, lucky for me I have a glue gun... lol.

Hope you're inspired to make your own doorplate for the challenge, if you need more inspiration, hurry over to the Magnolia Mania blog to see the DT- creations!

Have a good week!

Summer

Hi bloggers!

I've been playing around with my lovely Maya Design papers today. They are so perfect for the summer theme. I think I'm in love:)

I made this card using this wonderful sketch and summer theme in this weeks TOMIC- challenge.
I was also inspired by the BINGO challenge over at Wild Orchid Crafts Challengeblog- i chose: Wings- Pink- Pearls/Bling.
The Fashonista Challenge also has a Simply Summer theme this week, and Copic Marker Norge has a girl- theme: Vis oss ditt vakreste jentekort!
I would like to enter my card into these 4 challenges.

I used papers from the lovely Maya Design, Magnolia Doohickeys: Lovely fence and Bloomy Tag, Marianne design butterfly dies. I used lace, pearls, doily, stickers and charms from stash. Mulberry paper roses.  I distressed the edges with vintage photo distress ink and the "post" stamps are from Kort og Godt. I also used my sewing machine. The words mean: Have a nice summer.

I colored the  Summer Flower Tilda from the summer memory collection with my copics.
I used: Hair: E44-42-41, Skin: E13-11-00-000, Dress/wings/flower: RV95-93-91-V000, C3-1-00, Shoes: C3-1-00, Grass: YG95-93-

Some details- the flowers.

I love this butterfly!

Sketch, babycard with bling!

Hi  bloggers!
It's been a busy week, but finally I found time to make a card today. I've been blog hopping over at Totally Tilda for some baby card inspiration. Also the Lovely hAnglar & stAnglar and sweet Magnolia blog had a great sketch this week. Finally I 'blinged it on' with the Midweek Magnolias.

Here's my baby card:

I used Pion design papers, Quick Kutz lace circle die, Magnolia doohickeys: scalloped tag and scalloped stitch lace, flowers from iamroses, charm. bling and lace from stash. The sentiment stamp and the post-stamps are from Kort og Godt. The sentiment means "congratulations" in Norwegian.

I colored my Magnolia Baby Tilda with copics:
Hair: E44-42-41, Skin: E13-11-00-000, R20, Clothes and pacifier: R23-22-20, Butterflies and crown: C3-1-00, Shadow/background: B60 and C1.
I added some silver to the crown and butterflies with Tim Holtz Distress stickles (picket fence).

Some details. I painted the flowers with liquid pearls (white opal) to make them stand out a little more. And for once i DID NOT distress the edges of the PP at all! So to me the card looks a little "naked" but i didn't think it matched the baby theme... lol.

Here's the card again, some stuff on the inside too. Hope you liked it!

I'll be back tomorrow with my Just Magnolia DT card!

Water fun!

Pop over to the challengeblog to be inspired by the wonderful creations of the DT!to join the fun!

It's time for the second half of the DT to create inspiration for the challenge and I had lots of fun with this one. I used my Surf Edwin from the Lazy Summer collection.

I used papers from Maja Design: Vintage Summer Basics (beauties every single one of those!), corrugated cardboard (actually from a stamp shipment!!!), the waves/sea are Magnolia doohickeys: Swirly lace, the grass is Cheryl Lynn design dies. Charms from stash, the rope is something I found on the beach last summer and saved it because of the beautiful "saltwashed" color.

I inked up my Edwins with copics. The blue one: B97-95-93-91, The grey one: C5-3-1-00, BG93 and blender, Skin: E13-11-00-000, Hair: E47-44-42 and E47-39-37-35-30.

Here's a closeup of the rope I found on the beach. I made drops on the letters using glossy accent. I distressed the doohickeys with blue jeans distress ink. Tim Holtz.
Hope to see your lovely creations in the challenge!
