Vintage birthday card/ Vintage Bursdagskort

Hi friends,
How are you all doing? I spend the whole weekend at a crop a couple of weeks ago, I had so much fun chatting, laughing and making cads two whole days (and nights...lol) !!! True soul food for me! I finished off the weekend with a fun class with the sweet and talented Irina Blount of La La Land Crafts. I was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open due to lack of sleep, but it was very much inspering! I will be back to show you the two cards she taught us in a couple of days.

To hele dager (og netter he he...) med skravling, latter og scrapping. Utrolig gøy- skikkelig balsam for sjela!!!!

Litt utypisk meg, men morsomt å eksperimentere. Hi Hi.
Here's one of the cards I made at the crop. I made it for a colleague of mine. Luckily one of the other ladies at my table had some colorful papers to spend on me...Mine are mostly pink or baby blue...lol. Thanks Kjersti!

Dies by Tim Holtz/Sizzix, Spellbinders, Memorybox. Papers by Authentique, Vintage photo and cut-outs by Pion Design. Sentiment by Norsk Stempelblad AS.

Here's the inside tag.

Stamps by Tim Holtz and Kreativ Hobby.

DT Copic Marker Europe- I treasure your friendship

Hi crafty friends,

Today I have a friendship card to show you, my April DT card over at Copic Marker Europe
I kept the decorating pretty simple to let the image be the main focus on the front of the card. I used papers by Pion Design, flowers by WOK and Hobbykunst, Butterfly by iamroses, dies by Memorybox and the rest is from my stash.

I used this cute Saturated Canary image called Sisters and colored with the no-lines coloring technique.  As you probably know by now I love this technique! Here's a work in progress image for you. I love how the characters pop from the page in the process.

Copic colors used:
Skin: E000-21-11-13-15, R20-22
Hair 1: E29-27-23-21, Hair 2: E49-47-44-43-
Hair 3: E59-57-55-53-51
Eyes: B91-95-97, E23-25-27, G21-82-94
Green: YG95-93-91
Purple: V28-25-22-20
Grey: W7-5-3-1-00
Blue: B99-97-93-91
I used W3 and W5 to retrace the details around the eyes.

Here's the inside of the card. It's a fun fold with lots of layers.
I used a tutorial made by Cathrine Sandvik for the card base.

I used Stempelglede sentiment stamps on the first layer.

The inside of the card has room for a message.

Hope you like my inspiration today,
Thaks for stopping by my blog!
Wishing you a colorful day!

DT Copic Marker Norge: Til Konfirmanten / Confirmation card

Hi friends and bloggers,

Hope you are enjoying this wonderful time of the year: Spring!  It's so wonderful to see everything growing around us, the sun is shining and feel the temperature rise!!!

håper du nyter våren like mye som meg!

Even though we love being outdoors, we always find the time to do some coloring!
This card is for this month's challenge over at Copic Marker Norge. Spring/May is traditionally Confirmation time in Norway, so we thought it was a good challenge to help you get some cards done for this occasion. If you don't have a confirmation to attend, you can simply make a card for a teenager in your life!

Pop over to the Copic Marker Norge blog to see the beautiful creations of the rest of the DT.

I made this card using lots of lovely Pion Design papers. Dies by spellbinders (romantic ovals) and La La land Crafts (heart banner die) Flowers by WOC and Kort og Godt, pearls by WOC. Charms from Korthobby.

Tutorial: Easy to make pyramid placement cards/ Pyramide- bordkort

Hi crafty friends,

I found this tutorial I made for Ett Trykk ages ago on my computer, and I realised I never blogged it. So I figured I would today.

I made these for a confirmation in the family, my niece chose the colors and her mother picked the fold ;)

Materials needed: Cardstock, patterned paper, cutting board, bonefolder, glue, ink for distressing, a small butterfly punch, roses and rosebuds and a glue-gun. For each placement card you need to cut 3 pieces of 3 x 3 inches of cardstock and 1 piece of 2 6/8 inches x 2 6/8 of patterned paper.

Score the cardstock and patterened paper down the middle using your cutting board and bonefolder.

Distress the edges using distress ink walnut stain. Glue the patterned paper to one of the cardstock pieces.
Glue the pieces together as shown in the pictures.
Hold the pieces in place for a few seconds to make sure it dries in place.
Cut 3 butterflies using your punch. Distress the edges and make a small fold in the middle to get a 3d effect. Curl the wire on the roses to a curly stalk.

Adhere the roses, rosebuds and butterflies on the placecard.
Print the names on cardboard. Cut 1/2 inch x as- long- as- you- like- them- to- be strips around the names and use a corner punch on each sides. Distress the edges. Glue on to the pyramid.

And here are the finished cards. Very easy to mass- produce!
Her er resultatet. Veldig enelt å lage og lett å masseprodusere!

Hope this was useful!

Thanks for stopping by today,
have a great week!

DT Copic Marker Europe- Coloring Tutorial

Hi crafty friends,
Here's a coloring tutorial I made for Copic Marker Europe.
I remember when I first started coloring, I was so afraid to use the darker colors . I bought them...lol...but I rarely used them. So afraid to ruin my image.

So I thought I would show you what a difference it makes to get some contrast in the image to create depth. If you are a beginner you can easily find the darker matching color by looking at the copic color wheel and choosing a higher spesific value in the same color family and color group (the last number on the marker). For example if you use R81 you can add R83- R85- R89.

On this image by Saturated Canary I used two or three markers in each blending group. Only the lighter ones.

Some people prefer the lighter colors, and thats okay if you do. But what happends if you add the darker colors?

First I added E49 to the hair to define the deepest shadows. And more E44 to blend. Finally I went over with E40 to smothen it up.
+

Next the face. I had colored using E000 and E21 and E93 for the cheeks and lips.
Here I added E13- E11and R20 for the cheeks and lips. The face looks a lot less flat than before.
(And by the way a tip is to color the face before the hair, it is so easy to drag some of the darker browns into the face and ruin your image - learning the hard way...lol)
+

Originally I used R81 and V000 for the pinks.
I added E89-85-83 ont the flowers, t-shirt and skirt.

 +

I used E41 and 43 for the apron and parts of the skirt. Here I added E47 and 44, and some more E43, E42 and E41 for a good blend.
 +
On the basket I originally used E33-E31 and E30
I added E37 and E35, and used the other three again to blend.
 +

For the gloves and legs I used C1 and C00.
I added C7- C5 and C3 for deeper shadows and used C1 and C00 again.

 +
On the leaves I originally used G43 and G40.
I added G99 and G46 and G43 and G40 again.

 +

Here are the two images. Look how different they are.

And here is my finished card:
Papers are Pion Design. Flowers are by WOC and Kort og Godt. Butterfly by Magnolia.
Sentiment stamps by Norsk Stempelblad AS.

And here's the inside of my book card.

Hope you'll challenge yourself to try!

Hugs, Elizabeth
