DT Bikuben: Edwin on Christmas Eve

Hi peeps.
I am continuing making christmas cards. This one is my DT card for Bikuben.com this week. I love some of the older Magnolias, and this Edwin image really gets me in to the christmas mood.

Image is Edwin on Christmas Eve. Copic colors used: 

Skin: E13-11-21-00, R20

Hair: E29-25-21

Reds: E18-09-07, R24-22, W7

Green:  BG96-93-90, G99

Pants: E47-44-43-42

Shoes and socks: W7-5-3-1-00

Basket: E44-43-41, W7

Package: E37-35-33-31-30

Background: B60-91-21

I used Snow Marker on the trees to make snow.

Copic Tutorial: How to color a face

Hi crafty friends!

There are so many ways to colour faces. Depends on what kind of image you colour and how the artist drew the face. It is a matter of taste and technique- everybody has their preference.

For my DT assignment this month over at Copic Marker Europe I made this tutorial on how I like to colour faces, using the following Copic Markers: 

E0000-E000- E11-E13- E21- E15, E93 (cheeks), B99-97-93-91 (eyes)
Image is cropped from  "arctic friends" by Saturated Canary.

Start by colouring all the skin with E0000

Draw the shadows using E11. Under the hair line, over and under the eyes, under the chin, under some of the lip. Draw nose lines.

Add deeper shadows using E13.

Blend with E11 and E21.

Blend using E000.

E93 for the cheeks. I add colour from the eyes and towards the middle of the cheeks.

Blend with E000. I only use the E000 on the outer edges of the E93.

Next I darken the shadows using E15. On the hair line and hood line, 

and under the eyes and under the lips. Not on the nose.

Blend with E11 and E21. Adding shadow on the side of the nose and lips.

And finally blending with E000.

I add colour to the eyes. I used B99-97-95-93-91. From dark to light. I leave a small dot of white for highlights.

And for the lips: E93-R20 and E04. Same thing- I leave some white highlights.

Time to colour the rest of the image. Copic colours used: 

Hair: E57-55-53-51

Jacket: BG75-72-71 (homemade)- 70- 57-53-11, W7

Cup and t-shirt: BV25-23-20, W7

Skirt and mittens: E44-43-42-41

Fur: W7-3-00

Background. B60, W000, blender

Here's my finished project: 

I used papers by Maja Design and sentiments by Papirdesign. 

Some Frantage- shabby white around the image.

DT Bikuben - Christmas is just around the corner

Hi crafty friends, 

I have a christmas card to show you today. My DT card over at Bikuben blog. 

I finally got around to inking one of my Magnolias again, it's been a long time.

Juleforberedelsene er i full gang, iallefall når det gjelder kortlaging. Jeg var en tur innom Bikuben for leden og kom hjem med armene fulle av julegodter fra Papirdesign, både papir, stempler og dies.

Jeg har brukt en av de flotte skissene til Milolilja som utgangspunkt, men endte visst opp med en egen vri på den.

I have used one of Milolilja's sketches as a starting poing.

The image is/ Motivet er Tilda With Apple fra Magnolias Waiting for Christmas kolleksjon.

Motivet er fargelagt med følgende Copic Tusjer: 

Skin/Hud: E13-11-21-000, R20, Hår: E29-25-21, E49

Reds/Rødt: R22-24-27-29-46-56

Green/Grønt: YG67-65-63-61-99, YG25, G43

Brown/Brunt: E44-43-41, W7

Motivet er klippet ut og limt på med limputer. Det samme er teksten. 

Jeg har stemplet rundt tekststemplet med Juletrestempelet som følger med i pakken.
