Just Magnolia # 163 Use a Banner!

If you are looking for my candy, click here.

Good morning everyone!
It's time for a new challenge over at  Just Magnolia hAnglar & stAnglar challenge
Our lovely and talented host this week is Suzan, and her theme of choice is:

Use a BANNER!

This week we are so lucky to have two wonderful sponsors,
7 Kids College Fund and The Ribbon Girl.
Remember you have to use a Magnolia or hAnglar stamp on your card to be in the draw!

Here's mine. I colored this wedding couple a while back, but I haven't used it beacause I always make wedding cards in white, and the colors didn't go very well on a white card. Now I decided to go for something nontraditional.

I used Magnolia papers, spellbinders, Martha Steward punches and Mulberry flowers. Charms and ribbon from stash. I made the banner just by cutting it out from bazzil and stamping some swirls on it. The DP was a dominating the card a little too much, so I softened it down with some white acrylic paint. Sewing and distres sink on the edges as usual...lol.

Here's my bridal couple. I used these copics to color it:
Skin: E13-11-00-000, Hair: E57-53-51, Dress, flowers, tie: G94-82-40- 21, R 89-85-81, Suit and Tilda's shoes: E 57-53-50, Edwin's shoes: T7-4-1, Shadow: W5-3-1.

 My Banner details.

Something on the inside too.

Hope you are inspired to make your own card for the banner challenge. Pop over to the  Just Magnolia hAnglar & stAnglar challenge blog to see the beautiful creations of the DT and to join the fun.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Charisma Cardz Challenges: #25 Anything goes
Paperplay Challenges: Flag/pennants/banners

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Live & Love Crafts- opening candy!

Hello Vintage Friends,

Have you heard….there’s a new online store catering especially for us that will open up very soon… Live & Love Crafts, based in the UK, will specialize in vintage and shabby chic materials. The store is stocking all the products we adore; wonderful papers from Maja Design and Pion Design, and also from Riddersholm Design, a Danish company you may or may not already have heard of. The store will also carry Magnolia stamps and embellishments, stamps from Bildmalarna, as well as beautiful trims, laces and embellishments from Maya Road and Melissa Frances, just to name a few. And as if this wasn’t enough, Live & Love Crafts will also stock a wide range of Ranger products.
I’m fortunate enough to be on the Design Team of this new store and as I’ve been able to take a sneak peak of both the products and the store front, I can tell you that it is a vintage- lovers dream! I adore the charms, the lace, the papers... all my favourites in one place! I'm inspired to create just by looking around!

In order to celebrate the opening of Live & Love Crafts, the following candy with products worth more than £30 has been put together. The candy is open until July, 8th 8PM.

Just Magnolia: Purple and White

Good morning fellow crafters and bloggers!

Its Friday morning and it's time for a new challenge over at Just Magnolia. This week the talented Mo  (Monika) is our lovely host, and she has chosen the theme
Purple and White !

Our lovely sponsors this week are StampingScrapping and Crafty Sentiments.
Pop over to the blog to be inspired by the beautiful creations of the DT and join in the fun!

Months ago I found a tutorial for a Magic card, and finally I got around to making one. See Pats tutorial here.  Thank you so much, Pat!

Here's my card:

I used some scrap papers, lots of Bazzil, Mulberry roses, Magnolia doohickeys: Lovely lace and heart swirl,
Pearls, lace and charm from stash. The sentiment stamp is from Kort og Godt.
I distressed the edges with distress inks: Milled lavender. I also used my sewing machine on the DP.

I colored Rose Scent Tilda with copics. I used: Skin: E000-00-13-11, Hair: E49-47-39-37- 35- 31, Shirt and socks: C3-1-00, Pants and flower: V17 and blender. (I don't like V12 and V15 too much because I think the purple turns all pink on me, so I just used V17 for the purple shadows and feathered it out with tip to tip blender with my copics- works like a charm!) Greens: G82-40.
I used the same colors on Tilda With Wrapped heart ,on the inside. The sentiment are rubons fra Norsk Stempelblad/ Ett Trykk. I used spellbinders for the shapes.

A closeup of the flowers.
I hope your this inspires you to stop by the Just Magnolia hAnglar & stAnglar challenge blog to join in!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Ett trykk/ Trykkpressa Juni 2012: Bretteteknikk. (Folding ) Her er det massevis av bretter (se tutorial i link over)

Distress ink try- out!

Good evening bloggers!

Inspired by all the talented crafters out there, I've got my heart set on learning how to color with distress inks. I love my copics, and I will never quit using them, but I want to use those distress inks I bought years ago, just sitting there in my drawer... So I've been coloring and coloring... and it's SO HARD! Lucky for me, lots of talented ladies have made tutorials for me to see, but still... it's very difficult. Finally I decided that today is the day I make a card with one of the many images I have colored over the past week. So here goes!
I want to enter my card into the following challenges:

TOMIC: 1st anniversary, Anything goes.
Lovely hAnglar or sweet Magnolia:  Your favourite color combo. Mine is pink, brown and white.
Wild Orchid Challenge: Anything goes. I used Mulberry flowers.
So, here's my card (sorry the colors are a bit dark):

The paper is from Maja Design- vintage summer basic collection, I used Magnolia doohickeys: hear swirl, bloomy tag, scalloped stitched lace and lovely fence (man, I'm really addicted to those doohickeys...lol), I bought the pearls on the string from Hjerteboden Bakke, postmark stamps from Kort og Godt,  and doily, lace, cheese cloth and charm from stash. The flowers are mulberry roses and rosebuds, and I made a flower from lace just by pulling it together with a string from the kitchen cabinet:). I distressed the edges with vintage photo, and used my sewing machine around the edges. That's about it.

Here are some details from the card. You can take out the tag for a personal message.

Here's my Tilda sending loveletter colored with distress ink. I'm learning, but like I said... it's not easy:)

Hope you like my card. I'd love it if you leave a comment. I'm happy to get any advice on coloring with distress ink.
Thank you for popping by. Have a great week!

Hugs,
